Teaching Assistant
Location: Stockport
Pay: £450 – £475 per week (depending on experience)
About the Role
Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to join our team and support secondary schools across the Stockport area. This role is particularly well‑suited to graduates who are considering a future career in education or looking to gain valuable school-based experience.
As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENCo team to provide tailored support to students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your role will involve helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and reach their full potential in a safe and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for students with SEN.
• Assist with classroom learning and engagement.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional well‑being.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
Requirements
• Experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed as a teaching assistant.
• GCSE‑level standard education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
