Science Teacher - Hampshire Academy - 'Good School' - Immediate start

Teaching Personnel are working closely with the Head of Science at an Hampshire Academy to recruit a full time Science teacher for an immediate start. The school is an high achieving, oversubscribed school and are looking for a new member of their science department that will help to maintain the successful grades achieved. The school is a large mixed school with 1200 pupils and strive to be a wonderful place to work and learn. The school works in alliance with local primary schools and a college as part of a multi-academy trust so the opportunity as a teacher to extend your network and have access to a range of CPD courses. The Science department is a high performing department and have been recognised in league tables for attainment and for Pupil premium programmes. 

 

They are looking for a qualified or unqualified teacher of Science to join them in the new term who is passionate and inspirational in their teaching. The position is currently temporary for 2 terms but should the candidate demonstrate the right work ethic and fit for the school, there could be an opportunity for a permanent contract. 

The academy is looking for someone who has:

  • Qualified teacher status and a degree
  • A strong track record as an outstanding teacher of Science
  • A passion for English which is evident in their day to day classroom practice
  • The ability to work in collaboration with other members of staff to develop and manage projects
  • Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • The ability to guide student's academic, personal and professional development, as a tutor, in accordance with the academy’s guidelines and procedures
  • An understanding of the key national and educational policies and issues
  • The ability to inspire high achievement in young people from all backgrounds
  • Presence, dynamism, good sense of humour and approachability
  • An excellent record of attendance and punctuality

You will be integrated and involved in this department during your time at the school with the full support and mentoring of the department lead. 

This role is suitable for NQTs, and you will receive full support and mentoring during your NQT year.
