We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to join our thriving Science department. Applications are welcome from experienced and newly qualified teachers able to teach Science throughout the ability range at KS3, KS4 and KS5. Excellent support is available from a very experienced team.  

All students study GCSE Science at Key Stage 4. The subject is also popular in the Sixth Form, where A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics are currently offered.  

The secondary school in Preston embraces all aspects of comprehensive education. The curriculum is well balanced and reflects the needs of all our students and the local community in that we cater for the academic and vocational subjects. 

The Department:

The Science Department consists of nine specialist teachers who teach across the full age and ability range. The school has undergone an extensive rebuild in recent years and classrooms are modern with excellent facilities.

Overview:

To strategically plan for the development of the following areas demonstrating impact of these on learning and progress

To narrow the gaps in the achievement of all groups of learners through:

•             Implementing and managing an appropriate assessment strategy

•             Ensuring a curriculum which facilitates the progress of all learners

•             Ensuring responsive interventions across your subject

•             Assisting the Head of Subject in all aspects of the management of the subject area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
