SEN Teaching Assistant – Shaftesbury

Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a dedicated and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a school in Shaftesbury.

The Role

You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide personalised support to pupils. Your duties may include:

• Delivering 1:1 and small-group support
• Helping pupils engage with classroom learning
• Supporting children with SEND and additional learning needs
• Working with pupils who may have autism, communication difficulties or behavioural needs
• Following individualised routines and support strategies
• Encouraging pupils to develop independence and confidence
• Supporting positive behaviour throughout the school day
• Assisting with learning resources and classroom activities
• Sharing observations with teachers and relevant school staff
• Helping create a positive and nurturing classroom environment

Previous experience in schools, SEND, childcare, healthcare, care work or youth work is desirable but not essential.
