SEN Teaching Assistant – Weymouth
Teaching Personnel is currently looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Weymouth.
This role would suit an individual who is passionate about inclusive education and enjoys helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. You will provide practical, academic and pastoral support while working as part of a dedicated school team.
Your Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you could be responsible for:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
- Helping pupils access lessons and classroom activities
- Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
- Supporting children with autism, learning difficulties and communication needs
- Following individual support plans and school routines
- Encouraging positive behaviour and independence
- Supporting pupils' social and emotional wellbeing
- Assisting teachers with classroom preparation
- Monitoring pupil engagement and providing useful observations
- Building positive relationships with pupils and staff

Previous experience in SEND, teaching, childcare, care work, youth work or similar environments is advantageous, although full training and support can be provided where appropriate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
