SEN Teaching Assistant – Poole

Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a school in Poole.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils and wants to make a genuine difference to children who require additional support to access their education.

About the Role

Working alongside teachers and wider support teams, you may be required to:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 and small-group support
• Assist pupils with additional learning and communication needs
• Support children with autism and other SEND
• Help deliver personalised learning activities
• Reinforce classroom learning through targeted interventions
• Support positive behaviour and classroom routines
• Encourage independence and confidence
• Assist pupils with social and emotional development
• Communicate effectively with teachers and support staff
• Maintain accurate observations and provide feedback where appropriate

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
• Patience, empathy and resilience
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to build trusting relationships
• A calm and consistent approach
• Flexibility when responding to individual pupil needs
• A willingness to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals

Experience within a SEND, education, childcare, care or youth work environment would be beneficial.
