Science Teacher

Teaching Personnel are currently supporting a secondary school, that is located in the centre of Wigan with the recruitment of a Science teacher. The school are offering employment on a 12 temporary basis to cover a maternity gap beginning in January 2020.

Science teacher’s applying for this role will be joining a strong and supportive Science department that will offer support to any incoming teachers no matter what their experience level. (NQTs encouraged to apply also.)

The timetable will require a teacher that is able to teach Chemistry or Biology to KS3 and GCSE level. Candidates that are able to other areas of Science as well as their specialist subject have been highlighted as highly desirable.

Our client secondary school has made massive improvements in recent months, the Deputy Headteacher is  now looking to appoint an ambitious teacher of Science who is confident in their ability to help raise standards across their cohort.

Job Summary;

  • Science Teacher – Maternity cover from January 2020.
  • Competitive pay in line with MPS/UPS standards GBP24,373 - GBP40,490
  • Full planning and marking responsibilities included
  • Must be able to teach Chemistry or Biology at GCSE level.

Our client school;

The successful teacher will be joining a school where the proportion of disadvantaged pupils is significantly higher than the national average and most pupils are of White British heritage. The proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language is also lower than the national average compared to other secondary schools nationwide.

The school is situated in the centre of Wigan and is in an excellent location if you are traveling via public transport. If commuting by car then the school has onsite car parking and is just minutes away from the A58. Is smaller than the average Secondary school and currently has around 700 pupils on roll.
