NQT of Science

'Good' School (Ofsted 2017)

This is an opportunity for an NQT of Science to join a central Portsmouth School in the new academic year. The recent year has been difficult within the department and the school are looking for NQTs who are highly motivated to succeed and are looking for rapid progression in order to sustain above national average results in the department. The school is in need of teachers who are inspiring, motivational and passionate about teaching to allow its students to be excited by the subject and engage in their learning to progress in their future.

The School is one of three schools in a local academy trust, sharing best practise to allow its pupils to be educated by supportive and passionate teachers who value education and inspire the next generation. The Academy has seen success across all of its sites since taking over, with all 3 schools making improvements on their progress and achievement scores, and 2 of the schools meeting the national average for 2 years in a row. The Academy is relentless in its quest for a better education for all. The Schools are non selective in their intake, allowing all of its pupils to access the curriculum at any level.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • a qualified teacher educated to degree level
  • currently completing their final placement on their SKITT or PGCE programme
  • a great role model and advocate for all pupils
  • a teacher with clear goals and aspirations within education
  • resilient and flexible - able to take on feedback to progress
