Religious Education Teacher

  • Religious Education Teacher required for a full-time teaching position in January 2019.
  • Fixed term contract for the remainder of the academic year due to a staffing gap within the schools Humanities department.
  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status and have taught Religious Education at GCSE level.
  • Secondary school based in the West of Wigan that was graded 'Outstanding' in their latest Ofsted report

The Teacher that is successful in their application for this Religious Education post will have an opportunity to earn a permanent contract after a successful completion of this initial temporary period.

The school have highlighted that it will be beneficial if the teacher applying for this exciting role is able to teach other areas within the Humanities department to KS3.

The schools Headteacher wishes to meet with interested candidates in the coming weeks in order to appoint way ahead of the starting date in January. The school will look to accommodate a number of transition days prior to the school breaking up for the Winter holidays to ensure that the incoming teacher has an opportunity to meet the other teachers within the schools Humanities department and get a complete feel for the school.

Teacher Requirements;

  • Extensive knowledge of Religious Education
  • Committed to supporting the social and academic growth of their pupils.
  • They will be able to teach Religious Education in an engaging manor to inspire pupils
  • Be able to take sole responsibility for planning and marking

Our client Secondary school is slightly smaller than the average secondary school in the area. Due to its location in the West of Wigan the school is easily accessible from surrounding areas; Bolton, Leigh and Salford.
