Religious Education NQT

Secondary school in Stockport looking to hire RE NQT on full time temporary basis.

Our partner school in Stockport have advised us they’re looking to bolster their humanities department by hiring an RE NQT from September 2021, with the view of a full school contract being offered.

The new RE Teacher will work to a timetable of teaching classes in years 7-11 and up to GCSE level in a thriving and vibrant secondary school in the Stockport area. The school aims to offer a full and contemporary curriculum whilst also ensuring the core and humanities subjects are taught thoroughly. The successful candidate will join an already strong and dedicated humanities department passionate about providing a high quality of education. The schools high expectations and standards for staff and students have been key in the schools recent improvement and impressive academic results when compared to the UK average.

Located in Stockport, this position is a good opportunity for candidates local to the areas of Heaton Chapel, Stockport Town, Romiley, Cheadle Heath and beyond. Candidates able to commute from the surrounding areas of Fallowfield, Didsbury, Levenshulme and nearby Tameside are encouraged to apply.

Roles, responsibilities and highlights of this position include:

  • Teaching RE to classes in years 7-11, up to GCSE level
  • Creating a positive working environment for all students, providing support and ensuring good class and behaviour management
  • Departmental responsibilities will include lesson planning, marking and engaging in staff meetings
  • Full time NQT position initially for the academic year 2021/22 with the opportunity to become a full school ontract
  • Strong humanities department and dedicated school senior leadership team ready to support the new teachers transition into life at school
  • Wages based on the Teachers Pay Scale – MPS-UPS

Candidates must have QTS in the UK (Qualified Teacher Status), must hold NQT status, must be able to provide placement based references based with no safeguarding concerns and must hold an in date Child Workforce DBS certificate on the update service. (or be eligible to apply for one).
