Reading Intervention support Teaching Assistant

A Primary school in Altrincham Manchester, WA14 needs a Teaching Assistant (TA) to help offer addition support for their KS1 Year 2 pupils in Reading. The Primary school is working closely with Teaching Personnel to help find a suitable candidate to fulfil the role starting shortly after the Easter break.

This "Outstanding" school is extremely focused and committed to offering their pupils the best possible opportunity to succeed. They want to offer all of their pupils in the Year 2 class the best possible help to boost their reading skills before entering KS2 this September. The reason for this is the majority of the class is falling below the national average in Reading but is exceeding in both Writing and Maths. The school is 1 form entry and has excellent feedback in the most previous OFSTED report, attaining maximum marks in almost every aspect of the school.

The role will involve working closely with small groups of around 4/5 pupils at a time in trying to develop their reading skills further. Most of the time the role will be working with lower achieving pupils although on occasions there will be some group work with the higher achieving pupils of the class to try and develop them even further.

The role is a temporary role but the school will be interested in making it a more permanent role for the next academic year should all go well and both the Teaching Assistant and the school are the correct fit for each other.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
