SEMH TEACHER
Job description
We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a specialist provision supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated educator who thrives on making a meaningful difference to young people requiring additional support.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to small groups of pupils who may present with challenging behaviour but have significant potential to achieve with the right guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to SEMH learners
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and behavioural challenges
- Build strong, positive relationships to encourage engagement and trust
- Work collaboratively with support staff, external professionals, and families
- Implement behaviour management strategies and individual support plans
- Track and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches accordingly
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential)
- Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
- Ability to build rapport quickly and effectively
- A nurturing, patient, and consistent approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
