Qualified Science Teacher

Location: Oldbury, Secondary School

Contract: long term, potential

Start date: January 2026 

Salary: MPS/ UPS (dependent on experience) 


 

About the role: 

We are seeking a qualified science teacher to join one of our partner secondary schools. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and committed educator with a passion for inspiring young people to develop their understanding and curiosity in science. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5), fostering a positive learning environment that supports students of all abilities.

Responsibilities: 

  • Plan and deliver creative and effective science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (potentially KS5).

  • Assess, record, and report on student progress.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Differentiate lessons to meet diverse learning needs.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop the science curriculum.

  • Participate in school activities, meetings, and training.

Requirements: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Degree in a science-related subject.

  • Experience teaching science at secondary level (ECTs welcome).

  • Good knowledge of the UK science curriculum.

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
