Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant with a Psychology degree needed for partner secondary school in the Cheadle area of Stockport, this is a full-time role and is set to start after May half term 2023 and will run until the end of the academic year. • Earn between £77 - £90 per day

Our client is looking for someone who is enthusiastic and passionate about working with young people, in this role you will provide classroom support, work within the school’s SEN department to help with learning and behaviour support. There will also be many opportunities to complete CPD training courses and better yourself as a Teaching Assistant, these courses will be available within the school and via Teaching Personnel.

Key skills and responsibilities:

• Provide support to students with SEN, these additional requirements could be Dyslexia, Autism or ADHD to name a few examples. Some of these needs may affect behaviour, it will also be up to you to manage those issues in a calm, composed manner
• Work with students inside and outside of the classroom, you will independently work with small groups and 1:1 to support the students how they need
• Be able to clearly articulate feedback to students, ensuring they know their strengths and areas of improvement in a constructive way
• Liaise with teaching staff to help identify students who would benefit from receiving extended support
