We are actively seeking an empathetic Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to assist students with SEN and mental health needs, helping them flourish academically and emotionally.
Position Overview:
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will hold a vital role in providing personalized support to students who are grappling with SEN and mental health challenges. Working closely with our experienced teaching staff, you will contribute to creating an atmosphere of understanding where every student can thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Offer one-on-one and group support to students with SEN and mental health needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and mental health support strategies.
- Cultivate a compassionate and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist in adapting teaching materials to meet diverse learning needs.
- Provide emotional and social support to help students enhance self-esteem and resilience.
- Monitor and document student progress, sharing insights with teachers and parents.
- Contribute to the preparation of learning materials and resources.
- Foster a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field.
- A genuine passion for supporting students facing SEN and mental health challenges.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach.
- Strong organizational skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Prior experience working with children, young people, or individuals with SEN/mental health issues is advantageous but not mandatory.
