Join Our Team as a Graduate Teaching Assistant - September 2023

We are recruiting for a vibrant and welcoming secondary school, committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for their students. They believe that every student deserves a chance to succeed, and we're looking for a dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to help them make this vision a reality.

Position Overview:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, your role will be instrumental in supporting students with SEN and SEMH in their academic and personal development. You will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. We have roles in South Manchester, Stockport & Tameside!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN/SEMH.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to differentiate instruction.
  • Offer emotional and social support to help students build self-esteem and resilience.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources.
  • Promote a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant field (Education, Psychology, Special Education, etc.).
  • Passion for working with students with SEN/SEMH.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
