Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible (Day-to-Day and Long-Term)
Pay Rate: £85–£95 per day (depending on experience and role type)
About the Role
Teaching Personnel are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to support a range of primary and secondary schools across the Dorchester area.
We have a variety of flexible day-to-day, short-term, and long-term roles available — perfect for those looking to gain school-based experience, build their education career, or achieve a better work–life balance.
You’ll play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, helping teachers deliver engaging lessons, and contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide learning support to pupils under the direction of the class teacher.
- Work with individuals or small groups to help them reach learning goals.
- Support pupils with additional or special educational needs when required.
- Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in lessons.
- Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and general learning activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable).
- A caring, patient, and proactive attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work across different schools and year groups.
- Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
