Primary Special Needs Teacher

Applications welcome from all who are interested in the role and have either QTS, QTLS and/or Special Needs teaching experience.
This demanding but rewarding role will require you to teach SEN pupils in KS1 and KS2 expect to teach pupils with Autism (Verbal/Non-Verbal), ADHD, SEMH (formerly known as EBD) and Complex Needs. Class sizes are smaller than if you were in a mainstream school, with up to 10-15 students per class. The curriculum is personalised, to significantly enhance the quality each individual child’s education.
The school itself caters for children aged 5-18 years and is built on a large area, with masses of outdoor space for its students as well as a Sensory Room and Animal(s) on-site! Pupils are encouraged to explore outdoor space available to them and outdoor learning is also encouraged. All staff at the school work hard to make sure that pupils are fully supported and offer engaging, creative lessons.
Your day-to-day role will involve:
- Managing challenging behaviour and watching out for triggers
- Developing programmes of learning activities
- Planning, preparing, researching lessons
- Preparing and adapting teaching materials
- Making use of special facilities and/or equipment
- Encouraging personal development via tutorial and pastoral work
- Attending meetings and reviews
- Writing reports
- Coordinating the work of support staff
PLEASE NOTE: This role is not immediately permanent; however, there is an opportunity of gaining a permanent contract with the school through an introduction with Teaching Personnel. You will also need a Full UK Driving License and own transport, due to the rural location of the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
