Job description

Are you a passionate final-year PGCE student eager to step into the teaching realm and put your hard-earned skills into action?

We're currently on the lookout for dedicated and compassionate individuals fluent in both Welsh and English, who are aspiring teachers ready to embark on their journey as Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) within our school community in Caerphilly.

This full-time position, running Monday to Friday (8:30 AM to 3:30 PM), offers an ideal starting date of April 15, 2024.

Responsibilities include:

  • Crafting and delivering inclusive lessons tailored to the needs of your students.
  • Cultivating and nurturing relationships with students, parents, and colleagues alike.
  • Organising and assessing students' work while also keeping an eye on their social interactions within the classroom environment.
  • Establishing a safe and conducive atmosphere for learning.
  • Monitoring student progress, offering constructive feedback, and maintaining meticulous records of achievements.

For Welsh Medium candidates, proficiency in the Welsh language is essential, promoting its use daily among students.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience within an educational setting, ideally during university studies.
  • A knack for connecting with students, coupled with experience handling diverse learning needs, challenging behaviours, and one-on-one support.
  • Adeptness in employing various strategies to support student progress.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, showcasing patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • Exceptional organisational abilities, time management skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

Candidates proficient in Welsh will undergo language competency assessments.
