Pastoral Leader

Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Location: Secondary school in Blackburn, Lancashire
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Pastoral Leader to join our caring and committed team in a vibrant secondary school community. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference to their lives.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the pastoral life of the school, working closely with staff, students, and families to promote positive attitudes, excellent attendance, and high standards of behaviour. You will be central in ensuring that every young person feels safe, supported, and able to achieve their very best both inside and outside the classroom.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading on the pastoral care of a year group, providing guidance, support, and encouragement.
- Building strong, professional relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and external agencies.
- Supporting the implementation of behaviour and safeguarding policies to maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
- Monitoring attendance and wellbeing, intervening where necessary to remove barriers to learning.
- Contributing to the wider life of the school and promoting its values within the community.
We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Experience in a pastoral, behavioural, or safeguarding role is desirable, though training and support will be provided for the right candidate with the passion and drive to succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
