Role: NQT Foundation Phase

Location: Cardiff (City Centre)

Employment Dates: 5th October – TBC

Pay: GBP 127.72 Per Day: Teaching Personnel are committed to making contributions to National Insurance and Pensions.

We are looking for a Newly Qualified Teacher to take on an exciting teaching position in a thriving Foundation Phase Primary school class located near Cardiff City Centre.

The school are looking to take on an NQT making the role extremely accessible to those who have recently received their Qualified Teacher Status. The position is due to start just before October Half-Term and has the potential to run through to the end of the academic year, and even become permanent.

Head Teacher: “We are looking for an enthusiastic, recently qualified teacher who can bring energy and passion to their classroom.”

The School-

  • Single form entry, Year 1 class with 28 mixed ability pupils.
  • Wide range of extracurricular activities (Dance, Music, Welsh, Code, Cricket, Netball, Cricket, Football, Tennis.)
  • Received a ‘good’ rating in its most recent ESTYN report.
  • 95.5% average student attendance record.
  • 19.9% of children receiving free school meals.

Key responsibilities-

  • Using excellent organisational skills to enhance and improve the learning experiences of all members of your class.
  • Always seek to grow and adapt as a teacher and seek out any resources either Teaching Personnel or the School are willing to assist with.
  • Make clear and adaptable lesson plans using available class assessment data.
  • Always prioritise safety and security, ensuring all members of the class feel comfortable and confident.
  • Set out clear and achievable goals for all pupils.
  • Mark and assess class and homework with vigorous attention and detail, providing each child with honest yet understandable feedback.
  • Make use of Teaching Assistants and organise the classroom environment in a way that aims to get the most out of every pupil.  
  • To engage with all the responsibilities that come with being a KS2 teacher, including staff meetings, parent’s evenings, extracurricular activities etc.

What you will need-

  • QTS Equivalent.
  • A recent DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Experience within a KS2 setting.
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle is desirable, but not vital.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
