It has been a difficult time with COVID-19 school closures for NQTs who have worked hard this academic year to complete their studies in preparation of securing their first role in education. With placements and courses cut short we want to help you secure your first teaching role NOW and be one step ahead in your new career.

An exciting opportunity has become available in a newly opened special needs school in Lambeth, South London teaching small classes of autistic learners. The school is run by a nationally acclaimed organisation specialising in the support of people with autism and are keen to appoint Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) passionate about special needs.

The NQT role in Lambeth is to start in September 2020 and the school successful Newly Qualified Teachers must be open to video interviews this side of the academic year.

The school provides learning and social opportunities for children in secondary and post-16 education referred from The Borough of Lambeth and across London with a diagnosis of autism. NQTs will be expected to plan activities, record and report progress and work collaboratively with parents and staff.

Primary, Secondary and further education trained NQTS are welcome to apply due to the varying learning needs of students. Having experience on placement in a Special Needs (SEN) school or setting is highly beneficial, however specialist training will be provided.

The school is based local to both Lambeth, Vauxhall and Southwark Station with accessible tube/train links and buses across South London.

Requirements:

  • Must have Newly Qualified Teacher status and relevant qualifications
  • Must be able to work Monday to Friday 8:30 – 4:00 pm during term time
  • Must be confident planning and teaching children with autism or EHCP (Education health care plans)
  • Must be available to start position in September 2020 full-time and video interview prior to September 2020
  • Must be open to continued development through NQT support, courses and in-house training
  • Determined, patient, caring, friendly and pro-active personality

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
