Teaching Personnel are seeking a Music Graduate to join our client school based in Oldham for a full time position for the remainder of the academic year.

This is a perfect opportunity for a Music Graduate seeking further experience in a secondary school as a Teaching Assistant before considering enrolling on a PGCE or similar teacher training programme. You will be requested to take on full duties and responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant within the school, ensuring you gain valuable experience for the future as well as adding to your skillset and employability.

  • Full time position starting as soon as possible.
  • Earn up to £1300 a month, paid on a weekly basis
  • Strong support structure within the school, providing support throughout your placement
  • Access to Teaching Personnel's further development and CPD courses

The successful applicant will be a strong Music Graduate with a passion for teaching and an interest in becoming a teacher in the future. They will be required to show a strong work ethic and a creative way of thinking to deliver engaging and inspiring lesson plans. Through this position you will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of roles in the school, with each day being different. Typical duties and responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 assistance and tutoring to students who require additional support in Music
  • Working closely with the teachers within the Music department (Supporting them with the setup of each lesson, assisting with planning and marking when required)
  • Working with small groups of identified pupils to raise attainment in Music
  • Covering classes in the absence of the teacher in Music and other subject areas.

You will join a supportive department at a large school in Oldham, ensuring that you are given every opportunity to be successful in your position, with further development opportunities available. The school has recently gone over a costly refurbishment, with state of the art facilities throughout the school resulting in excellent teaching and learning provisions throughout. The investment within the school has had a strong effect with the school rapidly improving every year, so much so that it has been recognised as one of the most improved schools in the country. The school is located a short distance from Hollinwood junction off the M60 ring road and is close to major public transport links to the city centre.
