A school in South Manchester is seeking a Maths teacher to join the teaching staff on a temporary basis.

The requirements for this position are as follows:

  • QTS
  • A degree (preferably in Maths or a related numerical subject)
  • Experience in delivering Maths to KS4 - KS5 experience is highly desirable.

Highlights of this position are as follows:

  • Delivering Maths curriculum (including GCSE syllabus) as well as working towards imrpoving overall attainment and progress.
  • Offering additional sessions for GCSE groups, as well as targeted interventions in order to aid those who are falling behind after the 'lockdown' period. 
  • Monitoring day to day factors, as well as any pastoral issues that may arise.
  • Working consistently to ensure that students are able to access the learning process. 
  • Understanding the common problems often associated with Maths as a numerical subject.
  • Formulating designated plans for SEN students in collaboration with support staff (Teaching Assistants/Designated Learning Support Assistants)
  • Implementing specific strategies designed to keep pupils engaeged within the classroom. 

It is expected that the required individual will be able to effectively manage behaviour, in accordance with school policy.

  • The school is located in South Manchester, and has several public transport links located close by.
  • Motorway links also located close by.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
