Maths Teacher

Teaching Personnel are now working in Partnership with an Alternative Provision who are looking for a Maths teacher who is committed to educating and nurturing pupils with Social and Emotional Mental Health Difficulties within KS3 and KS4 classes. The position is for a Full Time, Long Term Teacher who would be paid to the Main Pay Scale (via daily rate).

The school is based in central Coventry (CV1) and has great public transport links. The alternative provision supports students who come to them at various points of their secondary schooling, usually because of their previous school placement having broken down, whether through ill-health, behaviour issues or other difficulties, frequently feeling less than positive about themselves and their life chances. The provision has a proven track record either to support the children to return to regular schooling or by completing year 11 with them.

The Teacher we require should have:

• Dramatically improved the life chances of students, whose previous experience of schools has, for whatever reasons, not been a wholly positive experience

• Experience of working with pupils in a PRU/Alternative Provision/SEMH background in as a subject specialist

• Qualified as a Maths Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status

• Valid Right to Work in the UK

The Teacher will be required to teach students who are on P Scales on the national curriculum across Key Stage 3 and 4. The education and care provided to the students at the school is continually improving, giving young people quality access to an education regardless of the starting point. The correct Teacher will have a mission to support getting the children back on track, either through a return to regular schooling or into further education at college.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
