Our client secondary school in Chorlton is looking for a Maths Graduate to take up a Teaching Assistant role in May 2023. The role will last for the rest of the academic year.

Some key information:

  • You have the chance to earn between £385 - £450 per week, dependant on relevant experience.
  • Build experience in a good school with a strong, experienced teaching staff.
  • Work in an Ofsted good school.

Our client is looking for someone to help elevate their students’ understanding of the subject of Mathematics, the successful applicant will show the pupils the importance of Maths in day-to-day life. This is a great subject to demonstrate real world learning and how Maths has impacted and helped you in your own life.

Skills and attributes our client is looking for:

  • Compassion. You must be understanding of students’ different ways of learning, the ability to adapt your teaching methods to accommodate different styles of learners.
  • Observation. Sometimes students will not always ask for help, is a pupil not getting on with their work and keeps chatting? It might be because they aren’t quite understanding the work and needs a little support.
  • Leadership. The class you are supporting should see you as a leader in and out of the classroom, not just as a figure of authority but as someone they can approach for support when needed.

Our client school is committed to supporting and elevating their students with SEN requirements, these additional needs could be Autism, ADHD, or different learning support needs such as Dyslexia or someone going through speech and language therapy. All relevant training you need to aid these pupils will be given as well as a variety of CPD courses for you to complete via Teaching Personnel and internally within the school.

  • Easy access to tram stops
  • There are various bus stops a short walk away from the school with various services running in and out of the city centre.
  • For those who drive there is a secure onsite carpark and the schools has links to the M60 and M62.

Should you be successful, to be considered you must provide a full DBS check and 2 references from former employers, character references are accepted if you have not had 2 employers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
