Exciting Opportunity: Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a highly regarded secondary school in Bramhall. With an Ofsted rating of 'Good', the school is committed to providing high-quality education and support to all students.

Role Overview:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Maths department and helping students excel in their mathematical journey. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Classroom Support: Assisting Maths teachers in delivering lessons, providing one-to-one or small group support to students who may require additional help with understanding mathematical concepts, and fostering a positive learning environment.

  2. Resource Preparation: Preparing teaching materials, resources, and equipment for Maths lessons, ensuring they are tailored to the needs of individual students and support the curriculum objectives.

  3. Individualized Support: Providing targeted support to students with varying abilities, helping them to overcome challenges, build confidence in their mathematical skills, and achieve academic success.

  4. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assisting in the assessment and tracking of students' progress in Maths, providing feedback to teachers, and contributing to the development of intervention strategies to support students' learning needs.

  5. Behaviour Management: Supporting the implementation of positive behaviour management strategies in the Maths classroom, promoting a respectful and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field from a reputable university.
  • A passion for education and a desire to support students in their mathematical journey.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students facing mathematical challenges.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work collaboratively within a team environment and respond to the diverse needs of students.
