What to expect as a Teaching Assistant?

Day-to-day tasks

As a Teaching Assistant, you could:

• Help teachers prepare lesson materials
• Set up and tidy classrooms for lessons
• Work with students on a 1:1 or small group basis, supporting their learning
• Watch, record and report the progress students make
• Look after students who are upset or unwell
• Lead classes with help from the teacher

Would you be the right fit?

• Previous experience in a UK school is advantageous
• Friendly, confident and calm attitude
• Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
• Adaptable to working with students with vulnerable backgrounds
• An individual with good knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education
• Be passionate about helping students to succeed academically, emotionally, and socially
• Have a calming presence and be able to engage well with secondary pupils (Years 7-11)
• You will be dedicated to ensure that all students achieve their very best
• Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of the school
