Learning Support Assistant – Harrogate / North Yorkshire

Location: Harrogate / Ripon / North Yorkshire
Pay: £90 – £105 per day
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
We’re seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join an inclusive specialist setting in Harrogate, helping students access learning in a supportive and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a range of needs including autism, learning difficulties, and physical or medical needs.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, adapting resources and approaches to suit individual learners.

  • Foster confidence, independence, and positive relationships.

  • Work alongside teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to provide consistent, nurturing support.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children or young people in education, care, or community settings.

  • Knowledge of SEND strategies, including communication aids or behaviour support approaches.

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

  • A caring, resilient, and flexible attitude – with a genuine passion for inclusion.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
