Learning Support Assistant (SEN Schools) – North Yorkshire

Location: Across North Yorkshire (Ripon, Harrogate, Knaresborough, Skipton, Selby)
Pay: £90 – £105 per day
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential?
We’re recruiting Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) for a range of specialist and inclusive schools across North Yorkshire, providing vital classroom support to students with a variety of needs including autism (ASC), learning difficulties, SEMH, PMLD, and communication needs.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a rewarding career in SEN education — whether you have experience in care, classroom support, youth work, or therapy, or are a graduate interested in progressing into teaching or psychology.

Role Overview:

  • Support students on a 1:1 and small-group basis within a structured, supportive classroom setting.

  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery, differentiation, and behaviour management.

  • Support pupils with personal care, mobility, or communication as required (training provided).

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, residential, or care settings).

  • Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach.

  • Full-time availability (Monday–Friday, term time).

  • Driving licence and access to transport highly desirable due to school locations.

  • Desirable: Moving & Handling, Team Teach, or Makaton training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
