Progress Tutor – Alternative Provision (EHCP Support) – Halifax

Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire
Pay: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm Opportunities

Are you passionate about helping young people with EHCPs overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential?
We’re seeking a dedicated and proactive Progress Tutor to work within an Alternative Provision setting in Halifax, supporting students aged 11–18 who have additional learning, emotional, or behavioural needs.

About the Role:

As a Progress Tutor, you’ll support a small caseload of students with Education, Health and Care Plans, providing both academic and pastoral support.
Your role will include:

  • Delivering 1:1 and small group sessions tailored to individual EHCP outcomes.

  • Supporting social, emotional, and behavioural development.

  • Liaising closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to track progress and implement interventions.

  • Promoting resilience, independence, and self-confidence through personalised learning approaches.

  • Supporting transitions, attendance, and engagement across school and off-site learning.

Ideal Candidate:

✅ Previous experience working in Alternative Provision, SEN, or SEMH settings.
✅ Knowledge and understanding of EHCPs and how to apply them in day-to-day learning.
✅ Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
✅ A caring, patient, and adaptable approach.
DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
Driving licence and own transport – essential for outreach and off-site support.
