Progress Tutor – Alternative Provision (EHCP Support) – Halifax
Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire
Pay: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm Opportunities
Are you passionate about helping young people with EHCPs overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential?
We’re seeking a dedicated and proactive Progress Tutor to work within an Alternative Provision setting in Halifax, supporting students aged 11–18 who have additional learning, emotional, or behavioural needs.
About the Role:
As a Progress Tutor, you’ll support a small caseload of students with Education, Health and Care Plans, providing both academic and pastoral support.
Your role will include:

Delivering 1:1 and small group sessions tailored to individual EHCP outcomes.

Supporting social, emotional, and behavioural development.

Liaising closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to track progress and implement interventions.

Promoting resilience, independence, and self-confidence through personalised learning approaches.

Supporting transitions, attendance, and engagement across school and off-site learning.
Ideal Candidate:
✅ Previous experience working in Alternative Provision, SEN, or SEMH settings.
✅ Knowledge and understanding of EHCPs and how to apply them in day-to-day learning.
✅ Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
✅ A caring, patient, and adaptable approach.
✅ DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
✅ Driving licence and own transport – essential for outreach and off-site support.
