Ex-Forces / Ex-Police School Support – Halifax (HX Area)

Location: Halifax
Pay: £95 – £110 per day
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm

Are you ex-military, ex-police, or from a similar background and looking for a rewarding new challenge?
We’re recruiting for school-based support roles in Halifax (HX area), working with young people who need stability, structure, and understanding.

Your transferable skills — discipline, teamwork, communication, and resilience — make you an ideal fit for supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or challenging behaviour.

The Role:

  • Provide behaviour and emotional support in a Pupil Referral Unit or Alternative Provision.

  • Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and confidence.

  • Help implement behaviour plans and restorative approaches.

  • Support class teachers and mentors in creating a calm, safe learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Background in armed forces, police, or similar structured setting.

  • Passion for mentoring and supporting vulnerable young people.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

  • Calm, consistent, and reliable approach.

  • Full-time availability; driving licence advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
