Learning Support Assistant

The Head Teacher of a Pupil Referral Unit in Stockton on Tees are searching for experienced Learning Support Assistants to join their team. In this role you will be working with a group of 8-10 pupils who display challenging behaviour throughout the school day. You will be supporting in a variety of classes including English, Maths and vocational subjects and you will be responsible for encouraging pupils to engage in their learning as well as managing behaviour within and in between lessons.

The provision caters purely for Secondary students and you will be working with LAC and young people who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences, therefore a background working with vulnerable or challenging people is necessary to be considered for this role. No qualifications are required however a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification will be considered a strong benefit.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
