Do you have experience supporting children and young people with additional needs and want the flexibility that supply work can offer?
Teaching Personnel is seeking Specialist Teaching Assistants to work across a number of specialist provisions in the Street area from September 2026.
The schools support pupils with a variety of needs, including autism, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs, learning disabilities and complex communication needs.
Working in supply offers the opportunity to gain experience across several specialist environments.
Your Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils individually and in small groups.
- Helping students access learning activities and routines.
- Implementing strategies to support behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Assisting with communication and social development.
- Encouraging independence and life skills.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Who Should Apply?
This work is best suited to experienced professionals who are able to integrate quickly into established teams. Therefore, applicants should have:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
- A patient and adaptable approach.
- Confidence supporting pupils with differing needs and abilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
