Do you have a passion for supporting young people with additional needs? Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant who is ready to step into a rewarding specialist education environment?
We are recruiting for a full-time supply position based in Blandford Forum, commencing in September 2026, with the possibility of an earlier start for the right candidate.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is confident working within SEND settings and can quickly become an effective part of an established team.
We are looking for someone with proven experience who can hit the ground running, bringing enthusiasm, resilience and a proactive approach to every school day.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve meaningful progress.
Working alongside teaching staff and other professionals, you'll provide personalised support that enables learners to develop academically, socially and emotionally.
Your day may involve delivering one-to-one support, leading small group activities, adapting classroom resources to suit individual learning needs, encouraging independence, promoting communication skills and celebrating every achievement, no matter how big or small. You'll also contribute towards creating a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed.
Every pupil is unique, so you'll need to be adaptable, patient and able to tailor your approach to meet a wide variety of learning styles and additional needs.
About You
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
- A positive, compassionate and resilient outlook.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- A genuine commitment to helping pupils achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will be dependable, flexible and ready to make an immediate contribution from the beginning of their placement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
