Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact within specialist education?

We are recruiting for a full-time supply opportunity in Glastonbury, starting in September 2026, with the possibility of an earlier start for the successful candidate.

This rewarding position is ideal for someone who thrives within SEND environments and is ready to become a valued member of the team from the outset.

We require individuals who have relevant experience and can hit the ground running, demonstrating confidence, initiative and a genuine commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.

 

Your Opportunity

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to help pupils achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

You will provide tailored support throughout the school day, adapting activities where necessary and encouraging engagement, confidence and independence.

The role includes supporting learning within the classroom, assisting with individual and small-group interventions, helping to implement personalised learning strategies, promoting positive behaviour and contributing to a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.

Building trusting relationships with pupils will be key to helping them flourish.

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has previous experience working within SEND education.
  • Can confidently support pupils with varying additional needs.
  • Demonstrates resilience, empathy and professionalism.
  • Communicates effectively with colleagues, pupils and families.
  • Is adaptable, dependable and eager to contribute from their first day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
