Learning Support Assistants –Secondary School (L25)

Start Date: ASAP
Location: South Liverpool (L25 area)
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only
Salary: £90–£100 per day (depending on experience)

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in the L25 area of Liverpool. You’ll play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they access the curriculum, grow in confidence, and reach their full potential.


The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and social, emotional, or behavioural needs.
  • Adapt learning materials and assist students in understanding and completing tasks.
  • Encourage positive learning behaviours and promote independence.
  • Support students both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring inclusion across the school day.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, supported, and valued.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to track progress and contribute to personalised learning plans (EHCPs).

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Empathetic, patient, and understanding, with a genuine passion for helping young people.
  • Confident working with students who may have barriers to learning.
  • Adaptable and proactive, able to think on your feet in a busy classroom environment.
  • A good communicator and team player.
  • Previous experience in a school or SEN setting is desirable but not essential — the right attitude and commitment are what matter most!

(An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
