Youth Worker – Full-Time (Alternative Provision, Liverpool)

Do you have a passion for helping young people who need a fresh start in their education journey? Are you confident, compassionate, and ready to make a genuine impact on young lives?

We’re seeking a full-time Youth Worker to join our committed team at an alternative provision school in Liverpool. Our school supports students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who have faced challenges in mainstream education. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in re-engaging them with learning, building their confidence, and equipping them with the skills they need to thrive in education and beyond.

What You’ll Do

  • Build strong, positive relationships through mentoring, sports, creative projects, and engaging activities

  • Be a trusted adult and role model, creating a safe and supportive environment for students

  • Motivate and encourage participation using inclusive, flexible, and personalised approaches

  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies

  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to provide a structured and nurturing learning environment

About You

  • Experience in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or similar support roles

  • Skilled at working with young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with a strong desire to see young people succeed

  • Confident in managing challenging behaviour and providing emotional and pastoral support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
