Teaching Assistant – Specialist Provision

Location: Liverpool/Sefton Area
Pay: £90–£100 per day
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–3:00pm (Term-Time Only)
Start Date: As soon as possible

A specialist provision in the Liverpool area is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting Years 7-11 students who have experienced difficulties in mainstream education.

This challenging yet rewarding role offers the opportunity to work in small classes or groups across two sites, enabling staff to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils. The successful candidate will play a key role in re-engaging students and helping them overcome emotional or behavioural barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of students.

  • Foster a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment through strong and trustworthy relationships.

  • Encourage pupils to re-engage with their education and develop resilience.

  • Collaborate with the leadership team, who are committed to prioritising pupil wellbeing and relationship-building.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A caring and patient nature, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills to build rapport and trust.

  • Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach to working with students with varied needs.

  • Previous experience in education or youth support is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
