Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit two full-time Learning Support Assistants to join an exciting school in North Leeds (LS8). The school have a great mix of children and a good reputation for the inclusion of children with special needs; including a number on the autistic spectrum. They have a supportive parent body and huge grounds to make creative use of. The school received a very positive Ofsted inspection in March 2018.
The schools require two skilled and enthusiastic LSAs who can support teaching and learning and address the personal and individual needs of their pupils. You will need to be a good communicator, cheerful, calm, resilient and able to work as part of a team.
Details of the two vacancies are as follows:
Vacancy 1 will be to provide support in Nursery and be a key worker for a number of children with additional needs. Experience and expertise of working with children with communication difficulties and autism would be advantageous for this role.
Vacancy 2 will be to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 child with communication and physical disabilities in the morning. In the afternoon, the role will be to work in Year 3 to support the SEMH needs in this class.
These jobs will be temporary for one year in the first instance and will be paid on Band B1. The hours of work will be 8.30-3.30 Mon-Fri, with a morning break and an hour for lunch. This equates to 30 hours per week term time only. You will not routinely be expected to work Teacher Training Days, but may be invited to do so on occasion and be paid overtime.
Ideally, you will be qualified to at least NVQ2 in a relevant area.
Due to the summer holiday, no tour of the school is planned.
