Are you caring, patient and passionate about helping children and young people reach their potential?
We’re looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming specialist SEN school in Farnborough. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils across primary and secondary age groups, supporting their learning, development, wellbeing and independence.
The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, complex learning needs and medical needs.
You’ll work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and support staff to provide personalised support and help create a safe, positive and inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting pupils throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils in lessons and during wider school activities

Providing personalised learning, communication and emotional support
-
Encouraging confidence, independence and positive social development
-
Supporting pupils with sensory, physical, medical and learning needs
-
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
-
Helping pupils engage with activities and achieve their individual goals
-
Working closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff
-
Contributing to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
About You
Previous SEN experience is not essential. We’re particularly interested in people who have experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals in settings such as:

Residential care

Healthcare

Youth work
-
Community or support roles
Most importantly, you’ll be patient, compassionate, reliable and adaptable, with a genuine desire to help children and young people learn, grow and become more independent.
You don’t need to have all the answers — full support and training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
