Learning Support Assistant- Physical Disability- South Manchester
Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our partner (Ofsted graded- GOOD) secondary school in the new academic year. This full-time Learning Support Assistant position has arisen due to an upcoming planned absence within the Inclusion Faculty.
This role represents an outstanding opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to provide support to students who require help to overcome barriers to learning.
Specific job duties:
- To work with groups of children under the supervision of the teacher including the delivery of therapy and programmes of work and the implementation of ILPs.
- To provide pastoral support to pupils with special needs.
- To supervise pupils, excluded from, or otherwise not working to a normal timetable.
- To attend to pupils' personal needs, including minor first aid and provide advice to assist in their pastoral, social, health, hygiene development and welfare matters.
- To assist the teacher with the development and implementation of individual Education/Behaviour/Support/Mentoring plans.
The school-
"Students with special educational needs are well provided for in lessons and within the inclusion unit. As a result of the specialist support they receive, these students make equally good progress to other students"- Ofsted
Our partner secondary school is larger than the average size secondary school with currently over 1,800 pupils on roll. Due to these vast numbers, the school has a much higher proportion of students who are known to be eligible for funding from the pupil premium and there are much higher proportions of students from minority ethnic backgrounds and who speak English as an additional language.
In terms of location, the school is situated on the border of Stockport and Didsbury. It is a short drive away from the M60 making it easily accessible from the areas of Wythenshawe, Cheadle Hulme and Reddish. There are also excellent public transports links (trams, trains and buses) that stop directly outside the school.
How to apply-
The Head of Inclusion at the school is looking to meet with interested candidates at the earliest convenience. Therefore, for immediate consideration, please submit your full CV to Paul via the link below.
Alternatively, to discuss how we can support you in finding a suitable role in education, please contact the Manchester South branch directly.
