A full time position for a Specialist Learning Mentor. This particular position is commencing in September 2018 and runs until the end of the next academic year (July 2019). If you are recent graduate, who has a desire to grow a career in the field of education, this could be the perfect role for you.
This particular Setting is based in Manchester and is a Specialist Provision which caters solely for pupils with high and low functioning ASC. The School caters for pupils 4 - 19 and has a total of 171 pupils currently enrolled. The Setting are currently seeking an experienced Learning Mentor who can work closely with vulnerable pupils and provide them with the appropriate pastoral support.
The role will involve working directly with pupils providing them with pastoral support and intervention. Ideally the successful Learning Mentor will have experience working within a School or a Specialist Setting. This is not essential providing that applicants have experience providing emotional support to vulnerable young people or adults.
In order to be considered for this position you should have:
- Experience working within a School (desirable)
- High levels of emotional and physical resilience
- The ability to build effective working relationships with pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour
- Experience of delivering targeted interventions to pupils with additional needs (desirable)
- A commitment to supporting the holistic development of all pupils
