KS2 Teaching Assistant

One of our partner Primary school was looking to appoint a Teaching Assistants to work full time starting as soon as possible.

In this role you will be expected to support one of the class teachers in Year 3 with the daily running of the class and take pupils in small groups to help them with their academic work. You will help pupils outside the classroom to help raise attainment levels in Maths and English and also support children with their reading in guided reading session to help raise their reading levels. Alongside academic support you will need to encourage positive behaviour in and outside the classroom by understanding positive behaviour strategies, being a role model to the pupils and building a strong rapport. Additionally, you will need to create resources to aid pupils in their academic work and create display boards to showcase high quality work.

The role will be for the whole academic year 20/21 for the right candidate.

What the school are looking for:

  • Someone who is patient and nurturing
  • Someone who can understand positive behaviour strategies.
  • Someone who can use their own initiative when supporting the class teacher.
  • Someone who has previous experience working with children however this doesn’t have to be in an education setting.

The minimum daily rate is GBP60 per day (based on a 6 hour working day)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
