KS2 Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant – Year 3 / KS2
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Pay: £13.75 per hour (paid weekly)

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Preston. This role will be working with a Year 3 class, providing general classroom support across Key Stage 2 to help pupils achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support in English, Maths, and wider curriculum subjects.

• Assist with classroom management, organisation, and displays.

• Deliver targeted interventions to support learning and progress.

• Encourage positive behaviour and promote inclusion for all pupils.

• Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development.

Requirements:

• Must hold a Teaching Assistant qualification (or childcare-related equivalent).

• Good understanding of the KS2 curriculum and strategies to support learning.

• Experience of working with pupils in Key Stage 2 is desirable.

• A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning.

• Able to work well as part of a team and follow school policies.
