Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant- Oldham

Teaching Personnel are working alongside an 'outstanding' primary school in Oldham, to appoint a fantastic Teaching assistant to work with classes in Key Stage 1 to start immediately. For the right teaching assistant, this role could potentially be for the rest of the academic year. The school is looking for a teaching assistant who can work in both of the different years in KS1, so experience in KS1 is essential and you need to be comfortable in both year groups.

This average sized primary school is part of a large primary Multi- Academy Trust in Oldham. The school has outstanding teachers and teaching assistants who are knowledgeable and committed, as well as having very well behaved and friendly students. The curriculum is broad and exciting and allows children to blossom in their learning experiences. The children are known for their happy and confident attitudes. The school serves the local community and has high levels of EAL. The expectations of both the students and the teachers is high, which is why the students make excellent progress across both key stages. The school is very inclusive and has a very stimulating learning environment which encourages all students to do well.

Due to the outstanding progress the students make, and the outstanding behaviour, the school is looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can help to maintain this. The support for the staff is incredible and very welcoming and there is room for real progression within this school. They need someone who is going to create a good relationship with the students and is going to love coming to work every day. The students use 'letters and sounds' phonics in Key Stage one, so although not essential, experience with this is a major advantage.

The teaching assistant will work with students on a 1-1 basis or in small groups within a class and will need to be available on a full time basis. They may be expected to help with interventions and booster classes.

Overview:

  • Full time teaching assistant role for BOTH year groups in key stage 1
  • Oldham OL 4
  • To start Immediately
  • Competitive salary of £55-£65 per day
