Contract: Full-time, Long-Term Cover (January 2026 – July 2026)
Salary: £172.98 per day (Pay to scale for long-term placement)
Start Date: 12th January 2026

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the Cardiff area. The school is committed to fostering a love of learning and supporting every pupil to reach their full potential. The IT Department is a dynamic and supportive team that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and high standards of achievement.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and innovative IT Teacher to join the school on a full-time cover basis from January to July 2026. The successful candidate will inspire students across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and practical lessons that develop digital literacy, computational thinking, and real-world IT skills.
Ideally, the school would like to offer a small number of cover days during the Autumn term (before Christmas) to support a smooth transition and ensure the right fit.
Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality IT lessons in line with the national curriculum

Teach a broad IT curriculum across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)

Assess, track, and report on pupil progress effectively

Contribute to the development of engaging schemes of work and resources

Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
-
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and support continuous improvement
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
A relevant degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related subject

Experience teaching IT at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)

Strong classroom management and organisational skills

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

A genuine passion for technology and inspiring young people
