ICT/Computer Science Teacher Position

Required for Easter or earlier: Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic and inspiring Teacher of Computer Science to join a vibrant and effective team in the next stage of its development. Computer Science is highly valued in the school and the pupils excel.

The successful candidate will:

• be an excellent classroom teacher who can inspire and excite pupils about their learning at KS3/4
• Have a good Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science.
• Be confident with the use of data for tracking student progress.
• Demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, pupils and the local community.

*The school is located in Preston with great public transport links for those that do not drive.*

• 30 hours per week
• Start: April
• End: December
• Negotiable pay depending on experience

The role:

• To prepare and teach lessons of high quality to designated pupils according to their educational needs, including the setting and marking of work carried out by the pupils in school and elsewhere.
• Assess record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of pupils and to keep such records as are required.
• Provide, or contribute to, oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual pupils and groups of pupils.
• Use a variety of teaching and learning styles to ensure a high quality learning experience for students which meets internal and external quality standards.
• Prepare and update subject materials for use within the faculty.
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and encourage good practice in the form and classroom with regard to attendance, punctuality, appearance, behaviour, standards of work and homework.

Essential:

• QTS Status
• Degree in Computer Science or related subject
• Recent relevant experience

Desirable:

• Higher Degree
• Successful experience of teaching Computer Science to A-level
• Driving Licence
