Are you interested in supporting students in Hydrotherapy sessions?
Are you experienced in supporting children with SEN?
Our client school in Blackburn are seeking Teaching Assistants who are happy to work as a Teaching Assistant and Hydrotherapy Assistant.
Hydrotherapy is the use of interactive multi-sensory equipment in water to aid pupils with autism or other special needs to improve their cognitive and physical abilities. The advantages of weightlessness and ease of movement assist pupils in their mobility. Sessions can also be used to both calm and stimulate pupils and, coupled with interactive features, the pool can also be used as a teaching aid.
Other benefits to pupils include: Non weight bearing exercise, relief from pain, swelling and stiffness, promotion of relaxation, joint mobilisation, cardiovascular fitness (heart and lungs), muscle strengthening, maintenance & restoration, increase in range of motion of affected joints, improved circulation.
I am seeking Teaching Assistants who are happy to undertake Hydrotherapy sessions and are confident in the water. As the hydrotherapy sessions aren’t all day, you must also be willing to provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs in the classroom and also be willing to provide personal care. Those with a background in teaching swimming are more than welcome to apply but this is not a swimming teaching role.
Applicants MUST have experience in SEN to apply and you must be a confident swimmer.
Pelase send a copy of your CV if you wish to be considered.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later
