Due to a gap upcoming within our client schools Humanities department, there is a need for a qualified Geography teacher to join them from January on a long term basis, covering Key Stage 3 humanities, predominantly Geography
- - Full time post in January (fixed term until July 2018 initially)
- - Supportive Humanities faculty with excellent provisions for learning
- - Limited responsibility for planning and marking with existing schemes for KS3
- - South Manchester based school, close distance to M60 motorway
- - Commitment to full time work required, along with good classroom presence
Our client school is a large, diverse secondary school situated just South of Manchester city centre, with excellent public transport links for those applicants who do not drive. Situated from the A34 and A6, with the M60 a short distance away, there is a high level of accessibility for the school from surrounding LEAs.
The incoming Geography teacher will be required to teach their specialism at GCSE along with delivering a small number of pre-planned History lessons for Key Stage 3 groups. The behaviour of pupils around school is positive and Ofsted noted students are attentive in lessons due to the schools behaviour policy, but incoming staff will still need to effectively manage behaviour in line with the schools behaviour policy. The incoming Geography teacher will be supported by the Head of Humanities during the initial transition into the school and will benefit from existing schemes of work and excellent provisions to enhance teaching and learning.
